Description
The Mitsubishi Starion mod for Assetto Corsa brings one of the icons of 1980s Japanese performance to your sim garage. The Starion was a turbocharged, rear-wheel-drive four-seat sports car that Mitsubishi built from 1982 to 1989. It was also sold in North America as the Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth Conquest. This free Mitsubishi Starion Assetto Corsa mod by Nabaoui (Navi Street Mods) comes in three versions, so you can pick the build that suits your driving style.
Three Versions: Stock, 2JZ and RB26
Stock Starion
The stock version keeps the original turbocharged four-cylinder character. It has a five-speed manual gearbox and a 6,000 rpm limiter, which makes it the most classic and relaxed version of the three.
Starion 2JZ Swap
The 2JZ-swapped Starion gets Toyota's legendary inline-six with a single turbo conversion, a six-speed gearbox and a stronger differential. The turbo boost can be adjusted from the cockpit, and the engine revs to 6,800 rpm. This version runs Work Meister SP1 wheels by Remco.
Starion RB26 Swap
The RB26-swapped Starion uses Nissan's famous inline-six from the Skyline GT-R, also with a single turbo conversion, a six-speed gearbox and adjustable boost. It's the highest-revving version, with an 8,000 rpm limiter. This version rolls on MB Battle wheels by Nabaoui.
Driving and Physics
All three versions are rear-wheel drive and support an H-shifter. They have ABS but no traction control, so you control every slide yourself. A high steering lock gives you plenty of angle, and each version comes with street, semislick and junkyard tires, so you can go from a clean track day to a smoky drift session in seconds.
Best For: Drift, Touge and Track Days
The swapped Starions, with their extra power, locked-up differentials and big steering angle, are made for drifting. The stock version is a great fit for relaxed touge runs, and all three work well for casual track days in a retro JDM classic.
