Description

The Mazda RX-8 Type-S 2007 mod for Assetto Corsa brings Mazda's high-revving, rotary-powered sports coupe to your sim racing garage. This free Mazda RX-8 Assetto Corsa mod by 101Creative is built around the Type-S, the top-spec version with the high-power rotary engine and a six-speed manual gearbox.

Rotary Engine and Drivetrain

In Assetto Corsa, the RX-8 Type-S makes 247 bhp and 216 Nm of torque from its naturally aspirated rotary engine. The engine revs all the way to an 8,800 rpm limiter, and its flat torque curve rewards you for keeping it high in the rev range. Power goes to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox with H-shifter support and a limited-slip differential. ABS and traction control are both available, and the car comes with street and semislick tires.

Features

  • detailed interior and exterior ambient occlusion (AO)
  • a realistic working dashboard
  • a high-resolution cockpit and driver animations
  • an updated collider for more natural contact with walls and other cars

  • Custom Shaders Patch (CSP) settings
  • a panoramic session-start camera config by Daniel Nogal

The mod also includes seven factory colors: Velocity Red Mica, Brilliant Black, Crystal White Pearl, Galaxy Gray Mica, Stormy Blue Mica, Sunlight Silver Metallic and Winning Blue Metallic.

Best For: Touge, Circuit and Drift Practice

The Mazda RX-8 Type-S is a well-balanced rear-wheel-drive car, which makes it a great match for touge runs and classic circuits. With its limited-slip differential and predictable handling, it's also a friendly choice for learning the basics of drifting in Assetto Corsa.
