Description
The Ferrari F430 Challenge 2006 for Assetto Corsa brings Ferrari's one-make racing car to the sim. It's built around the naturally aspirated 4.3-litre V8 from the Ferrari Challenge series. This Assetto Corsa Ferrari mod comes in two versions: the standard F430 Challenge and a fictional Aero version with a rear wing for extra downforce.
Engine and Drivetrain
The F430 Challenge is rear-wheel drive with a six-speed paddle-shift gearbox. There's no H-shifter, just like the real car, and upshifts take 150 ms. The naturally aspirated V8 revs all the way to 8,800 rpm. ABS and traction control are both available, which makes the car approachable even on your first laps.
Two Versions: Standard and Aero
The standard F430 Challenge stays close to the real race car, with a front splitter and rear diffuser doing the aero work. The fictional F430 Challenge Aero adds a rear wing on top of that. It gives you more downforce and a more aggressive look, while engine and gearbox stay the same. Both versions run on Trofeo H slicks, and semislicks are also available.
Features
- detailed interior and exterior ambient occlusion
- a realistic working dashboard
- a Norms steering wheel
- optimized LODs by Garage ACTK for smooth performance on full grids
- Custom Shaders Patch (CSP) settings for modern lighting
- a panoramic session-start camera config by Daniel Nogal
Best For: Circuit Racing and Track Days
The Ferrari F430 Challenge is made for circuit racing. It's a great fit for one-make races on official Assetto Corsa tracks like Mugello and Monza, and for track day sessions. Take the Aero version to tracks with fast corners, where the extra downforce from the rear wing pays off most.
