The Renault Clio IV RS EDC Trophy 2016 represents a refined evolution of Renault’s popular hot hatch, combining modern styling updates with enhanced performance. In August 2016, the Phase 2 facelift was introduced, bringing subtle yet noticeable improvements such as new LED headlights and taillights (standard on higher trims), redesigned front and rear bumpers, updated alloy wheel designs, LED front fog lights, and a refreshed front grille. Inside, the Clio received a retrimmed steering wheel, updated MediaNav and R-Link infotainment systems with DAB digital radio, redesigned interior door panels, a new 4-way mirror adjustment control, and an updated gear knob.
This facelifted version also introduced the Trophy variant, featuring an upgraded engine producing 220 PS (217 bhp; 162 kW) and improved driving dynamics. In 2018, Renault released the limited edition R.S. 18, finished exclusively in black with styling inspired by the brand’s Formula 1 race cars.
Originally previewed in a 2011 Facebook post and later unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, the Clio IV entered the market shortly after, offering both hatchback and estate body styles. Production took place in Flins, France, and Bursa, Turkey, with the estate variant primarily assembled in Turkey. The Clio IV is exclusively a five-door model, featuring hidden rear door handles integrated near the windows. Compared to its predecessor, it offers a longer wheelbase and increased dimensions, providing improved interior space and a more stable driving experience.
