About Ferrari 488 Challange EVO GT2

The Ferrari 488 Challenge EVO GT2 is a track-focused evolution of the 488 Challenge, designed to deliver higher performance and improved driving consistency. Built on the same foundation, the EVO version enhances aerodynamics, handling, and control systems to create a more stable and confidence-inspiring race car.

The aim of the EVO package is to maximize the synergy between aerodynamics and vehicle dynamics – that is, the interaction between tires, balance of downforce, and electronic controls. Better performance is guaranteed by higher downforce and new Pirelli tires, while driving feedback was refined via extensive simulator work to balance the control systems. Greater usability on the track is attributed to the steering wheel, which was derived from GTE and FXX-K, along with a new rear-facing camera.

Compared to the 488 Challenge, the EVO offers a +50% increase in downforce with a front-biased setup, resulting in approximately 1 second faster lap times around the Mugello circuit. The updated braking system provides a 20% reduction in wear, while the new Pirelli tires improve lap time consistency by 15%.

The most noticeable upgrades come from the redesigned aerodynamic components. The aggressive new front bumper and additional aero elements increase front-end balance by +20%, while the revised underbody and rear wing allow for greater adjustability and improved overall performance.
